As part of the annual NMLS conference, NMLS will be hosting an all-day pre-conference session for course providers on Tuesday, Feb 16, 2016, in Phoenix, AZ. There is no fee to attend this session. The agenda is as follows:
9:00 -11:30am Online Courses Workshop
This is a workshop intended to help both new and experienced course providers to exchange ideas and see new trends happening in the delivery of online courses. We’ll talk about interactivity, use of video, and other technologies, and discuss what’s working well and not so well. We’ll also talk about how we can begin to evolve to the next level of delivering quality courses that are engaging yet still meet timing and other requirements of state regulators and the SAFE Act. Both OIL and OSS will be discussed.
11:30 – 1pm Lunch (on own)
1pm – 2:30pm Test security and Other T&E Updates
SRR continues to place great importance on test security and education compliance. During this session we’ll talk about changes SRR recently made to its investigative processes, web monitoring, and the Rules of Conduct. We’ll also talk about overall state of the T&E program and current trends.
3:00 -5:00pm Online Course Authentication
Since 2014, SRR has been exploring options for how to increase authentication requirements for online courses beyond the use of just a userid and password. During this session we’ll discuss the research that has been done and the plans for increasing authentication requirements.
Registration is required to attend the session. Conference location, the registration form, and other details are available on the conference web site. Note that regular conference fees apply for those who are planning to attend the rest of the conference Feb 17-20.
