We continue to see courses that are not updated or don’t have correct federal citations – particularly for federal regulations that were republished by the CFPB in 2011. To provide additional assistance, we have updated the NMLS Reference Guide: Citing Sources and Regulations in Course Materials and included a one page Quick Reference Guide. The single reference guide shows commonly referenced federal laws and regulations with an example of an acceptable citation. The document also includes guidance on how to cite sources in different types of content and the citation structure that is expected.
The Reference Guide can be found under “Looking for Examples and Presentations?” in the Course Provider section of the NMLS Resource Center.
