Reminder About Course Marketing Standards – Including E-Mail Marketing

Course providers are reminded that in all advertising, the NMLS Standards of Conduct for Approved Course Providers requires that all advertising and marketing must be truthful and be void of any misleading statements, promises, or guarantees.  Providers are also reminded that all advertising is to be in compliance with federal and state laws to include the CAN-SPAM Act which applies to e-mail marketing.  A critical compliance criterion of the CAN-SPAM law is the requirement to have a visible and operable unsubscribe mechanism present in all e-mails, and that any opt-out request is honored within 10 days.  General facts about the CAN-SPAM Act and how you can help to ensure you’re in compliance may be found on the FCC’s web site at:
